What is the duality of the advantages of Autism? The disadvantages of Intelligence?
What is the duality of intelligence? Perception of intelligence?
I first discovered Autism in grade school (35 years ago) and read about a family's journey to go into their boy’s autistic world and bring him out to their world. The child was so brilliant in his own world.
I remember thinking that if a baby was born to the world with so much intelligence or so much sensory ability how would he handle the world? What if somehow 2 year old sensed the pulse of the world at such an age? I thought to myself, how could he not want to live in our world. At least not without the help from someone who could bring him out safely.
25 years later autism hit the mainstream and they were all seen as retarded.

According to this, autism is caused by a hyperactive brain that makes everyday sensory experiences overwhelming.
Their "enhanced perceptual function model" suggests autistic brains are wired differently, but not necessarily because they are damaged
