Duality of Technological progress

What is the Duality of Technological progress? Static technology?

For 60 years there has been little progress in increasing a vehicles miles per gallon. the first cars rolled off the assembly line getting about 25 MPG. I remember reading in High School how someone in Australia had increased the rotary engine MPG output to 100 MPG. It makes me wonder if we will ever see the below on our roads.

Record-breaking 10,382mpg car could go from NY to LA on a liter of fuel

Duality of a a Conspiracy II

This is truly a great article on dualism. But remember don’t believe everything you read.

It seems to me that based on the article we are all denialists. So, do we only really trust scientists? What about the supposed scientists who don't agree with other scientists. How do we know a supposed scientist from a scientist?
Or even better yet if we are to trust government then all the tea partiers are denialists. Democrats and Republicans are denialists.

Okay the article was only talking about denying science but doesn't government make all decisions based on science and the good of the people?

Duality of Immortality XI

Well sometimes I wonder if I should believe everything I read or see. I suppose if its on Oprah it has to be real.

I also just came across a show called the Dollhouse from FOX. Very interesting show on human memory / computer memory integration and mind control. It starts out slow but I loved the program where a deceased woman with money comes back for a short period of time in another persons body. The bodies are only for hire. Well at least until we can clone people.

Duality of Abortion IV

Dualtiy of abortion? Sterilization?

Duality of population control? Designer baby production?

Here is another fearful article as serious as climate control. (The articles words not mine).

But before we worry maybe we should look at the dualities?

Advantages / Disadvantage
Less population growth? / Extinction?
Promotes designer babies? / Only the rich can re-produce?
Designer babies will be engineeered better in many ways? / Only the rich can reproduce?
More beautiful people in the world? / People that all look the same?

The infertility timebomb: Are men facing rapid extinction?

Professor Niels Skakkebaek, of the University of Copenhagen, describes the issue 'as important as global warming'. Last week, one science writer even suggested, in starkly terrifying terms, that if scientists from Mars were to study the male reproductive system, they would possibly conclude that man was destined for rapid extinction.
And if it continues, this trend could indicate men are on a path to becoming completely infertile within a few generations.

Duality of Abortion III

This does not necessarily fit the title but supposrts a topic posted prior to this.

Now I have stated before not to believe everything you read and the post with the article on condoms for 12 year olds I posted some time ago becomes a bit more believable and a suggests a possible necessity when you read the next article:

Conscious Machine?

When I was just out of highscool I remember people looking at me funny when I would say that man would eventually create life. Most people looked at me crazy and in order to even move forward with this conversation I would have to discuss the definiton of life. Its a good thind my best friend understood me.
What is duality of life? Death?

I would ask, what if a computer was programmed to eventually die at any age and that it should try to find a way to not die or find a way to avoid that virus that will kill it. It could transplant chips and such but eventually it would die.

Well this is usually as far as I got so I stopped talking about it to avoid the looks.

So if we introduce the molecular computer can I bring up this topic again?

“Like Neurons in the Brain”: A Molecular Computer That Evolves

The reaction I received 25 years ago with people is strikingly similar to the looks I get now when I tell people we will be immortal. If I am lucky I can get them to answer the question on whether they would rather be immortal on earth or heaven.

Oh and of course it is these experiences in life that make it easy to understand why no one will ever follow this blog.

People just dont think this way I guess

Duality of Sex IV

I have talked about intersex and feminization of boys and such but this one just about rocked me when I saw it:

I definitely believe that most duality has gray areas but not sure I buy that boys and girls are immediately gay and require social learning to not be so. But in the world of duality I guess this must also be a viable explanation. I love his boldness!!

Report: Brazil bishop says kids spontaneously gay

"We know that the adolescent is spontaneously homosexual. Boys play with boys, girls play with girls," he said. "If there is no proper guidance, this sticks. The question is — how are we going to educate our children to use a sexuality that is human and suitable?"

Grings also said the acceptance of homosexuality in society could pave the way for the acceptance of pedophilia.

"When sexuality is trivialized, it's clear that this is going to affect all cases. Homosexuality is such a case. Before, the homosexual wasn't spoken of. He was discriminated against.

"When we begin to say they have rights, rights to demonstrate publicly, pretty soon, we'll find the rights of pedophiles," he said.

Duality of Dull and Boring V

What is the duality of memory? Absence of memory?

Absence of memory doesn’t exist just because you can’t access it (forgot), so that can’t be it. So maybe memory is just one of those non duality concepts. Memory can be marked by time but does not exist at a point in time. Memory can be created but can it actually be killed. If we die does the memory die as well? I suppose if the memory was viewed by someone else it would not die but it would not be the exact memory. What about those memories that no one else experienced with you. Did you tell someone about this memory? Does that make the memory different and thus not the memory itself? Did the memory get augmented? Did you make it better when you told someone about it?

This one little paragraph was spawned by the first 7 seconds of the below video.

The first seven seconds could make an argument for that brain to computer interface (integration) that stores all your memory for you and actually receives all the information you want. Yes I know sounds like the Matrix with a new feature. Memory storage.

Duality of Data

What is the duality of Data? Is it its perceived metric?

I work with data and in the duality of this world I have realized that data does one of two things it gives you information or it creates additional questions or like all good things somewhere in between.

So what is the metric on unemployment telling us? Does it create more questions or does it give us information. What happens however when it is gives you information that’s questionable and questions that are informational?

The questions that provide information are:
How is it calculated? What is it truly measuring?

I don’t know the true answer to this question but the following metric seems to be more informational and less questionable.

Food-stamp tally nears 40 million, sets record

Safety or Privacy: New Technology Will Make Us Choose

Before decrying the excesses of Big Brother, civil libertarians should give this concept some consideration. However legitimate one’s opposition to the “surveillance state,” the thinking person ought to concede three unassailable truths: 1) there are tens of thousands — perhaps hundreds of thousands — of individuals throughout this world who consider it a solemn religious obligation to destroy American cities; 2) these individuals are sincere in their warped convictions and determined to pursue their heinous objective; they cannot be deterred or dissuaded; 3) these individuals will soon have the atomic means to achieve their apocalyptic ends — likely within the decade, certainly within most of our lifetimes.

Quantum wonders: Superfluids and supersolids

Superfluid helium climbs up walls and flows uphill in defiance of gravity. It squeezes itself through impossibly small holes. It flips the bird at friction: put superfluid helium in a bowl, set the bowl spinning, and the helium sits unmoved as the bowl revolves beneath it. Set the liquid itself moving, though, and it will continue gyrating forever.

Duality of a Computer Hacker

What is the duality of a computer hacker? A cyborg hacker?

What percent of the body does the machine have to inhabit or control to officially classify someone as a cyborg? If we do it slowly will we never even realize we are becomig cyborgs?

If someone can hack your body does that officially make one a cyborg?

Well we definietly fear a partial hack:

Scientists work to keep hackers out of implanted medical devices

Duality of intelligence or Autism

What is the duality of the advantage of Intelligence? The disadvantages of Autism?
What is the duality of the advantages of Autism? The disadvantages of Intelligence?

What is the duality of intelligence? Perception of intelligence?

I first discovered Autism in grade school (35 years ago) and read about a family's journey to go into their boy’s autistic world and bring him out to their world. The child was so brilliant in his own world.

I remember thinking that if a baby was born to the world with so much intelligence or so much sensory ability how would he handle the world? What if somehow 2 year old sensed the pulse of the world at such an age? I thought to myself, how could he not want to live in our world. At least not without the help from someone who could bring him out safely.

25 years later autism hit the mainstream and they were all seen as retarded.

Finally an article that expresses their true gift:
The advantages of autism

According to this, autism is caused by a hyperactive brain that makes everyday sensory experiences overwhelming.

Their "enhanced perceptual function model" suggests autistic brains are wired differently, but not necessarily because they are damaged

Graphene is a hexagonal grid of carbon, much like a roll of chicken wire. Remove one random atom from the pattern every so often, and graphene can exhibit magnetic behavior without needing the presence of magnetic metals. Adding hydrogen into the mix creates graphene’s non-conductive cousin, graphane. Taking precisely defined patterns of atoms out of the sheet can create well-defined circuits, creating wires that are almost superconducting.

Duality of Water III

What is the duality of a political conflict? Water based conflict?

The below article is somewhat tame from what I have from other articles. Whether you believe our current conflicts are politically based or resource based (oil) conflicts, it’s hard to imagine a conflict over water.

We all see what happens when we mix oil with water, I wonder what will happen when we mix water with war? If wars are about oil resources I find it hard to hop fully on board with so many free energy opportunities that have existed since the 40's. But fighting for water would be like fighting for life. It’s a fight that touches everyone’s needs.

And what about those products currently available that make water from air(Our industrial-size Atmospheric Water Generators (AWGs) can produce up to 1,319 Gallons (5,000 liters) of purified drinking water each day, from only the humidity in the air.)

Would a global scale of such a product have an effect of the planet?

Duality of the Human Employee III

I was just talking to someone the other day that said "ya people used to think that machines would replace jobs and what actually happened was creation of new jobs". But will this always be so.

I had heard of a resource based economy before. The ideas somewhat overlap with "Peoples Capitalism

Her is the article link and below are the interesting parts of the article related to this post:
Peoples’ Capitalism: A Pathway to Abundance

Science and Technology Enablers
There is little doubt that the science and technology to achieve abundance exists — or at least could exist given the right investment decisions by government and industry. Over the next few decades there will be rapid advances in materials and manufacturing processes. There will be advances in nanotechnology and microelectronic circuitry, advances in medicine and health care, advances in computational hardware and software, and advances in communications and networking. Perhaps the most significant advance will be the development of intelligent machines with perceptual and cognitive capabilities equivalent to those of the human brain and mind.

There is little doubt that the science and technology to achieve abundance exists — or at least could exist given the right investment decisions by government and industry.
b
We are approaching the Kurzweil Singularity. Human-level machine intelligence is only a decade or three away (depending on funding levels.) There are good reasons to believe it will soon be possible to reverse-engineer the human brain. Advances in neuroscience are revealing how the brain works. Advances in computer science and robotics are revealing how to build intelligent systems. Computational power is approaching that of the human brain. Estimates of the computational power of the human brain range from 1013 to 1016 flops. Current supercomputers can already achieve 1015 flops. In two to three decades, this power will be available on desktop machines.

The implications are enormous. Human level perception, reasoning, decision-making, planning and control on a laptop will change everything. It will enable an explosion of productivity that will improve quality of products and services, reduce costs, and increase profits in every sector: manufacturing, transportation, construction, mining, health care, education, national defense, and environmental restoration.

Jobs, Jobs, Jobs
The flip side of productivity is that it reduces the need for human workers. As productivity rises, the need for human workers falls. The conventional wisdom is that new jobs will be created as old jobs disappear. While this has been true in the past, there is no fundamental reason why it must continue to be true in the future. If production of wealth requires fewer and fewer human workers, while the number of humans entering the labor force grows exponentially as world population increases, it seems inevitable that intelligent machines will increasingly compete with human workers for jobs. As the supply of human workers grows, and the demand for human workers falls, the inevitable result will be to put downward pressure on wages and salaries. It is thus not surprising that advanced machine intelligence is widely perceived as a threat to jobs.

In order for rapid productivity growth to benefit everyone and threaten no one, we will need to devise a new form of capitalism that provides an alternative to jobs as the primary source of income. We need a new social contract that guarantees ordinary people a share in the wealth generated by advanced technology. We need to shift the primary source of income from wages and salaries to ownership of capital assets. In that way, everyone can benefit from advanced machine intelligence, not only from lower costs and higher quality, but also from rising income from ownership of capital assets.

This is what Peoples’ Capitalism would do. It would enable everyone to become a capitalist. Everyone would have a substantial income from ownership of capital assets. This income would gradually rise to equal, and eventually to exceed, income from wages and salaries. This would allow an increased rate of investment to improve productivity and produce rapid economic growth that benefits everyone. It would usher in Abundance before 2050, and lead eventually to an every-person’s Aristocracy based on robot labor.

So dualtiy would suggest that you shouldnt believe everything your read about everything you hear.

Duality of Words

My first attempt at analyzing a word.

What is something if it is unthinkable?

Is it something that we should not think about. (But you already did)
Is it something we should not have thinked (thought)about. (Again you already have)
Is it something or someone that is unable to think? (Is this possible)
Is it something that science will one day be able to unthink? (What the world is not flat)
Is thinkable a word? yes the definition is: consider or be considered; conceivable: So can something be unconceivable?

Duality of Responsibilities IV

What is the duality of a speed trap? A Space trap?

When GPS navigation came out I remember thinking that it would not be long before you would be able to get traffic information real time. I knew from my handheld GPS that it could also provide speed of travel as well. This led me to believe that one day you would probably get internet in your car and this would lead to a GPS speeding ticket appearing right on your screen.

But after further analysis I find this will probably not happen. Knowing that you may or may not get away with speeding allows people to make choices. If they were being monitored by machines full time for speeding they would never speed. No speeding, no speed traps meaning less ticket revenue for the state and less police officers.

When I read the below article it took me a bit to analyze its impact. Would you speed less if you knew that satellites may be tracking your speed? How many cars can the track? How big of an area can they track? Would revenue from tickets increase or decrease? The only thing that is a given is that it could replace a staffed speed trap. Would this cause some unemployment, or would the police take on other responsibilities

Duality of Duality II

What is the duality of duality? The absence of duality? Or is it faith?

This quote can be found many places on the web so I don’t know who to give credit to. So here it is.

Professor: You are a Christian, aren't you, son?
Student: Yes, sir.
Professor: So, you believe in GOD?
Student: Absolutely, sir.
Professor : Is GOD good?
Student : Sure.
Professor : Is GOD ALL - POWERFUL?
Student : Yes.
Professor : My Brother died of cancer even though he prayed to GOD to heal him. Most of us would attempt to help others who are ill. But GOD didn't. How is this GOD good then? Hmm?

(Student was silent)

Professor : You can't answer, can you? Let's start again, young fella. Is GOD Good?
Student : Yes.
Professor : Is Satan good?
Student : No.
Professor : Where does Satan come from?
Student : From...GOD...
Professor : That's right. Tell me son, is there evil in this World?
Student : Yes.
Professor : Evil is everywhere, isn't it? And GOD did make everything. Correct?
Student : Yes.
Professor : So who created evil?

(Student did not answer)

Professor : Is there Sickness? Immorality? Hatred? Ugliness? All these terrible things exist in the World, don't they?
Student : Yes, sir.
Professor : So, who created them?

(Student had no answer)

Professor : Science says you have 5 Senses you use to Identify and Observe the World around you. Tell me, son...have you ever seen GOD?

Student : No, sir.
Professor : Tell us if you have ever heard your GOD?
Student : No, sir.
Professor : Have you ever felt your GOD, Tasted your GOD, Smelt your GOD? Have you ever had any Sensory Perception of GOD for that matter?

Student : No, sir. I'm afraid I haven't.
Professor : Yet you still believe in HIM?
Student : Yes.
Professor : According to Empirical, Testable, Demonstrable Protocol, Science says your GOD doesn't exist. What do you say to that, son?

Student : Nothing. I only have my Faith.
Professor : Yes, Faith. And that is the problem Science has.

Student : Professor, is there such a thing as Heat?
Professor : Yes.
Student : And is there such a thing as Cold?
Professor : Yes.
Student : No, sir. There isn't...
(The Lecture Theatre became very quiet with this turn of events)

Student : Sir, you can have Lots of Heat, even More Heat, Superheat,
Mega Heat, White Heat, a Little Heat or No Heat. But we don't have anything called Cold. We can hit 458 Degrees below Zero
Which is No Heat, but we can't go any further after that.
There is no such thing as Cold.
Cold is only a Word we use to describe the Absence of Heat.
We cannot Measure Cold.
Heat is Energy.
Cold is Not the Opposite of Heat, sir, just the Absence of it.
(There was pin-drop silence in the Lecture Theatre)

Student : What about Darkness, Professor? Is there such a thing as
Darkness?
Professor : Yes. What is Night if there isn't Darkness?

Student : You're wrong again, sir. Darkness is the Absence of
Something.
You can have Low Light, Normal Light, Bright Light, Flashing Light...
But if you have No Light constantly, you have nothing and its
Called Darkness, isn't it? In reality, Darkness isn't. If it is,
You would be able to make Darkness Darker, wouldn't you?

Professor : So what is the point you are making, young man?
Student : Sir, my point is, your Philosophical Premise is flawed.
Professor : Flawed? Can you explain how?
Student : Sir, you are working on the Premise of Duality. You argue
There is Life and then there is Death, a Good GOD and a Bad GOD. You are
Viewing the Concept of GOD as something finite, something we can measure.
Sir, Science can't even explain a Thought. It uses Electricity and
Magnetism, but has never seen, much less fully understood either one.
To view Death as the Opposite of Life is to be ignorant of the fact that
Death cannot exist as a Substantive Thing.
Death is Not the Opposite of Life, just the Absence of it
Now tell me, Professor, do you teach your Students that they evolved from
A Monkey?

Professor : If you are referring to the Natural Evolutionary Process,
Yes, of course, I do.
Student : Have you ever observed Evolution with your own eyes, sir?
(The Professor shook his head with a smile, beginning to realize where the
argument was going)
Student : Since no one has ever observed the Process of Evolution at
work and cannot even prove that this Process is an On-Going Endeavor,
Are you not teaching your Opinion, sir?
Are you not a Scientist but a Preacher?
(The Class was in uproar)

Student : Is there anyone in the Class who has ever seen the
Professor's brain?
(The Class broke out into laughter)
Student : Is there anyone here who has ever heard the Professor's
brain, felt it, touched or smelt it?...
No one appears to have done so.
So, according to the Established Rules of Empirical, Stable, Demonstrable
Protocol, Science says that you have No Brain, sir. With all due respect,
sir, how do we then trust your lectures, sir?
(The Room was silent. The Professor stared at the student, his face
unfathomable)

Professor : I guess you'll have to take them on Faith, son.
Student : That is it sir...Exactly!
The Link between Man & GOD is FAITH.
That is all that Keeps Things Alive and Moving.

That student was supposedly Albert Einstein.

Many felt Albert Einstein was an atheist but the article surely makes you think otherwise.

Albert Einstein, letter to Guy H. Raner Jr., Sept. 28, 1949, quoted by Michael R. Gilmore in Skeptic, Vol. 5, No. 2

I have repeatedly said that in my opinion the idea of a personal God is a childlike one. You may call me an agnostic, but I do not share the crusading spirit of the professional atheist whose fervor is mostly due to a painful act of liberation from the fetters of religious indoctrination received in youth. I prefer an attitude of humility corresponding to the weakness of our intellectual understanding of nature and of our own being.

- Albert Einstein, letter to Morris Raphael Cohen, professor emeritus of philosophy at the College of the City of New York, March 19, 1940. Einstein is defending the appointment of Bertrand Russell to a teaching position.

Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds. The mediocre mind is incapable of understanding the man who refuses to bow blindly to conventional prejudices and chooses instead to express his opinions courageously and honestly.

I love the duality of this discussion. It actually goes very well with Descartes' work on the existence of God.

I always like to over analyze so hear it goes:

So from this dialogue you could say the student believes that what we experience with our 5 senses is the now and present moment and we must have faith in the future or faith in the absence of the future since we cannot sense it with our 5 senses.

Anyone’s brain, personality or thoughts of future and past exists only through faith and not on the expression of intelligence or the absence of expression of intelligence.

Per the student if you do not approach life through duality, then there are no true opposites. You either have something or you have the absence of something.

So what is the duality of something? The absence of something?
What is the duality of duality? The absence of duality?

So now that you know this you must now realize that not knowing this is the absence of knowing this.

Without duality you could say that we would either have "mind" or the absence of "mind"? Existence or the absence of existence.

Or you can look at this article as I felt it was intended, to make you think. and what better a post below on creativity and thinking.

Duality of Chaos

What is the dualtiy of Chaos? Order?
What is the duality of Resolution? Conflict?

Maybe harmony is the true middle ground similar to "Now" for what is the duality of harmony? Chaos?

Duality of Abortion

What is the duality of Abortion? Sterilization?

I am not a fan of abortion but mainly for other reasons. I do not believe in abortion as contraception device. I believe in being smart enough to wait.
But the argument of being smart enough to wait is at war with the argument that we can’t control ourselves when it comes to sex.
But as even mentioned in a past post, condom makers are now looking to manufacture condoms to fit 12 year olds and the age of consent is 16 in some countries.

Article Link:
China tries to sterilise 10,000 parents over one-child rule

China already has a one child law which has led to aborting female babies. So here is an example of education not working, and then laws not working leading to forced sterilization. This article brought up a lot more questions like what is the policy on abortion and what happens if a couple gets pregnant after having their first child in China?
From WIKI:
Recently, China had a horrible earthquake. All the families that lost their children will be allowed to have another baby but parents over 60 years of age that lost their child will be given $150 from the Chinese Government to make up for it because they will not be allowed to have another child. Couples that adopt a child or baby orphaned by the earthquake, that have not already given birth to their own child, will also be allowed to have a second child by natural birth. Those couples over 50 years of age who lost their only child to the earthquake would also be paid 600 Yuan ($89). Couples that already have a child that get pregnant will be forced to get an abortion whether they want to or not. If a woman gets pregnant with twins then she may keep both the babies just as long as she has enough money to look after both the children.

So this led to more questions: What will the sterilized couples get if they lose their child due to natural disasters? Could this lead to forced sterilization after having your first baby? If they have forced abortions when you get pregnant with your second child are all abortions legal like they are here in the US? Does the Chinese Government frown on female first baby abortions but praise second child abortions?

It all seems so wild and crazy that I wonder what China’s policy will be when we all live to 200 or eventually become immortal. One thing for sure is that immortality will more likely come to China first. Why because the only way a smart society would allow immortality would be to find the maximum population the planet can have and then freeze its population growth once it hit it. China already believes it is at that point for its country evidenced by their one child policy. What will their policy be on people killed by accidents? A lottery to see who gets to have a child? Cloning and downloading your memories back into your body? Creating a designer clone?

Duality of language

What is the duality of language? Thought? Faith?

Duality is so cool. Our minds want to grasp logical things such as beginnings and hold them to be 100% true. The concept of a beginning or of creation logically proves the possibility of a prime creator. (Did you catch the duality there)? But following the quote below would suggest that "God" is not in control thus not the prime creator. Or that such a creation was on purpose.

So does the below quote make Gene Roddenberry an atheist, or does he just not believe he needs to pray against Satan. He never says "God" doesn’t exist.

"They said God was on high and he controlled the world and therefore we must pray against Satan. Well, if God controls the world, he controls Satan. For me, religion was full of misstatements and reaches of logic that I just couldn`t agree with."

Duality of succeeding

What is the duality of the detriments of succeeding, or the drawbacks of suceeding?

I love titles like this. Only in a duality world could there be benefits form failures.

Duality of a socially accepted robot

What is the duality of a socially accepted robot with soft flesh? A non socially accepted robot with metal skin?

No that can’t be it since what would the point be to build a robot that was not socially accepted.

How about a sexually accepted robot? It’s a reach but could this be the answer to over population? Could this be the answer to teen pregnancy? Could this be the answer to eliminating 90% of all rape occurrences? Could this be the answer to STDs?

But this is an absurd thought to use robots for sexual social gratification. We need to just make sure our kids are educated and keep them from being sexually active. And make sure rapists are caught before they do their hideous act. And we need to make sure adults don’t bring anymore babies into the world so that government can introduce immortality to us.

But don't worry, robots will never be marketed this way, they will just one day be sexually accepted.

Duality of a willing X Men

What is the duality of a willing human subject to become part animal? An accepting animal to become first part human?

So the idea of having attributes of animals is pretty scary. Hard to think anyone would willingly do so. So how do you get around this? You make the first human with animal traits by making animals 50% human. Then when you really do have half and half you conveniently call the animal with human genes a Human with animal genes.

Duality of "Too Big to Fail" III

I have already suggested the duality to this question as being too little to succeed.

The below technology has existed for quite some time now. But when will we really get this to the home.

Well thanks to our too big to fail society, free clean energy must be squashed until we have 95% unemployment. But will we get robots that do all our work first or free energy and anti gravity?

So until that time free clean energy would put too many people out of a job. Yes we could supervise the robots building the SEG but that’s about it.

Sure hope the government gets this unemployment thing solved. Oh maybe they are trying to right now and we just don't know it.

Sorry Searl you are just too little to succeed right now.

Dualtiy of a lifespan

What is the duality of a lifespan? Content of a life?

I have written before about how it seems the only wish in life that comes true is the one that wishes your life away.(previous post)

But what a life we wish away. If you were to compare my lifetime with someoe born in the 1800's I think that person would have to have lived 200 years to experience what has happened in the last 45 years.

If you dont think so now maybe you will after watching this.

Duality of Pharmaceutical medicine

What is the duality of Pharmaceutical medicine? Sound Medicine?

Now I could post many articles on the effects of sound. Did you know that sound can make you feel nauseous or give you a headache? Have you seen the sound cannons coming out for crowd control? Have you heard of the iphone and android app called sound grenade? All negative applications which I just don't feel like spending a lot of time on.

So instead I offer this:

What is the Dualtiy of the Feminist movement

What is the duality of the feminist movement? Male Liberation?

I have seen many articles from men on this. Male written articles blast feminism and wish for the days of old. I usually start to read out of curiosity and usually never finish. Going backwards is definitely not what most men want, but it is unusual that I have never seen an article analyzing all the good things feminism has done from the male perspective. Purely that it works to make both sexes’ equal makes it important and a good thing.

I suppose like women’s studies, female emotions, and many other things I can’t think of right now, feminism is just one of those taboo subjects for guys. Women don’t seem to have taboo subjects for guys.

Let's Hear It For Male Liberation!

Duality of Immortality II

What is the duality of death? Immortality?

So what might immortality look like if we obtain it?

An interesting view into our immortality but not like you would expect. When you think of immortality you think of what you will do in the next 100 years not the next billion or so.

What is the duality of a Land Island? A plastic Island? Or a trash Island?

Duality of the Human Employee II

What is the duality of a Human employee? A robotic employee?

As you know i believe robotics will take us to higher unemployement meaning swhat? Fewer work hours for the human?????

Well it would mean something.

But the robot could never take the place of customer service could it? We all hate those computers answering when all we want to do is talk to a person? This computer does not sound so bad:

And how good is robotics? Watch this video:

Duality of the Machine influence

What is the duality of the machines influence? Societal influence?

I wonder what we will do when we have that computer / brain interface. Will we be able to download the knowledge of a text book in a minute? Will we experience learning like the movie the Matrix portrays?

Will the 20 hours of video uploaded every minute on YouTube be instantly categorized and flagged so that in one minute we can experience say 2 hours of what we think is relevant. And with that interface can we experience these 2 hours in 3 seconds? Will we have PHD's by the time we are 14 after entering school at the age of 13?

I have mentioned that the new agers, occultists, or other spiritualists believe that the next level of consciousness is a form of group consciousness possibly. People express themselves more openly when talking to a machine. Will disgracebook (post) be the norm. Will there be the elimination of anything secret?

Although I try to write without bias I think it is sometimes obvious what I believe in. I believe in change and what the future holds is a pace of change that is both scary and exciting. Embrace the exciting.

It does start out a bit slow but it is worth the watch.

Duality of the Machine influence II

What is the duality of the machines influence? Natures influence?

Ever notice how people who get away to the outdoors seem to be so much healthier. Is it really due to the exercise? Or is there more.

Duality of a Job that helps the economy

What is the duality of a Job that helps the economy? One that hurts the economy?

Property Tax Rebellion Brewing After Real Estate Collapse

"The National Taxpayers Union, a Washington-based advocacy group, estimates that 30-60 percent of homeowners are over-assessed each year"

So it appears we need more property assessors, why aren't they hiring? Oh I guess that would mean less tax revenues. And if that happened they would have to lay off property assessors.

Duality of Sound

What is the duality of sound? Silence? Or is the dualtiy, absence of frequency?

Dont feel like writing today so just posting this article on sound. Whenver I see articles on sound or applications like sound grenade I always think of Ayn Rand and her fictional book Atlas Shrugged that supposedely predicts our future.

Duality of Instinct

What is the duality of Gullibility? Questioning everything?

What is the duality of believing everything you read? Questioning everything?

What is the duality of Instinct? Choice?

Some believe it is a first instinct to believe everything you read or hear. Obviously if someone tells you something so far out you will likely question it before believing. But in general I believe we do believe first.

And why shouldn’t we believe our parents our governments or our fellow man when they tell us something. If we trust them then I think it is safe and natural to believe what they tell us. And if the trust runs low we can always change churches, religions, or our politicians. A perfect system for growth or stagnation I think. A perfect duality.

And what about “Faith”? I once read Faith being explained as believing what you can’t prove. I was also tempted to believe this when I first read it.

Faith is much more than that but fundamentally this definition is accurate. Logic tells us we don't have all the answers. But people want and need answers thus they believe and bring faith into their lives for either the right or the wrong reason.

So as the world religious and political leaders scream for you to have faith and ask for God’s Blessing, I say why not take this easier path of not questioning. Questioning makes you an outsider, an atheist, a criminal a heretic.

But why is it that our religious and political leaders have so much control? Is it because they claim to know best or to have our best interests in mind? And do we believe them at first instinct?

A quote from Buddha: “Believe nothing, no matter where you read it, or who said it, no matter if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense.”

But don't even believe this quote for Science has proved this to be incorrect over and over again. Reason and common sense is not a static skill for most people. Most people’s ability to reason changes with age and wisdom. Most people’s ability to enhance their common sense gets better with age.

So what if this quote changed "Believe" "Have Faith” thus I steel a quote and make it my own????

Have faith in everything and nothing, no matter where you read it, or who said it, no matter if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense.”

This is duality. No wonder we want to believe everything we read. It’s so much easier. Oops I meant to say no wonder our instinct is to believe everything we read.

An article I read that inspired this post:
Why You Can’t Help Believing Everything You Read

Duality of the vision of a master race through genocide

What is the duality of the vision of a master race through genocide? How about a race that pursue a master race through acceptable science. Or how about a parent that want a superior child?

You can see how opposite they are as one involves killing and one involves creating.

A great article below about egg donors for what some will call designer babies. And of course the cost of such designer babies would clearly keep us from obtaining this master race, at least until the designer babies are created through gene manipulation and available for all at no cost.

And many of you might be thinking how awful this is or how you would never do this. But what about the next generation? If everyone is doing this in the future would you really take the risk of bringing into the world a kid who will be so far behind in potential skills?

Duality of More Important than the Constitutiion

What is the duality of something being more important? Something less important?

Following are two videos that possibly explain this duality

Quote from video 1:
"The comfort of being able to scan me and figure out who I am outweighs my concern for privacy"

Please disregard the conspiracy title on first video. As mentioned before duality doesnt really fit into conspiracies. I will go out on the limb however and say I won't be chipped if I can help it.

Quote from video 2: "I don’t worry about the constitution on this"

No thoughts to this just a good example of duality

Duality of Morality

What is the duality of Morality? Controlled Morality?

Some claim this is already being done by the TV. Many people have written about this so I think I will skip a long post on this for now. But if TV is controlling us, the cure could be in the below article. That is if you think the TV has a negative effect on society.

But what would we do with all those prisons if we could assure everyone had the same morals. Think of all the unemployment as well. Think of all the taxes that could be reapportioned.

Duality of Communism II

What is the duality of the Communist creed? Capitalist creed?

Just a phrase I came across below. I am sorry that I don’t know who originally said this but here it is:

The Communist creed: From each according to his ability, to each according to his need.

The Capitalist creed: From each according to his gullibility, to each according to his greed.

I think I have done several posts now where communism is evil and good and the same with capitalism. Isn’t duality wonderful?

I am not for or against either. Doesn’t capitalism focus on ability and wants? Doesn’t communism focus on gullibility and welfare?

What is the duality of need? Want?
What is the duality of greed? Welfare?

We have a lot of gray areas here.

Would you buy more from a company that donated time and money to charities? Would you buy more from a "green company"?

Do you need that new car?

Duality of "Too Big to Fail"

What is the duality of too big to fail? Too little to succeed?
What is the duality of MSM? BlogSpot posts?

Tough to confirm everything in the blog post below. I found articles regarding the strike and salaries, but not about the Entrepreneur. The blog mentions a law that squashed the entrepreneur but nothing more specific about this law. I could find no other mention to this entrepreneur squashing law.

MSM would never report on anything that could damage them. But if it were true it would make great ratings. But then maybe the city would have to create a law to suppress damaging stories to the state. You know the things we think happen in Russia.

So is this a case where MSM did not report on it because it wasn't able to confirm the law or is it true fiction?

Or is it true?

Dont you love duality?

Duality of an Animal II

What is the duality of a normal animal? A scary animal that look sooo cute?

To think that one day the next generation of humans could make their poo smell like roses.

But if it’s still not the most pleasant thing to cleanup, would roses change their name to the stink flower since they smell like poo? Is there some association with the terrible task of cleaning a diaper to the smell of poo?

What came first the poo or the stink? Why does a dog love all smells and the human dislikes the smells of so many things?

What possible association could I have had to bananas to make them smell so badly?

Ok now that I have rambled enough here is the article with cute picture:

Canada Approves Enviropig™, Piglets Inherit Genetic Modifications for Clean Manure

Maybe enviropigs would make a good pet.

Duality of being conditioned

What is the duality of being conditioned? Can only be not conditioned right? But that does not seem to exist unless possibly one could be considered unconditioned while in the womb.

Similar to the duality of the future or the past (from previous post)and the discussion of "now" not having an opposite the following video expresses the only way to not be conditioned is to be in the now.

So is there really a duality then for being conditioned?

Duality of Science in medicine

What is the duality of Science in Medicine? Profit in medicine? Subjective diagnosis?

The below video is 10 parts and somewhat bordering conspiracy but interesting none the less. I can personally think of several examples where these drugs seem necessary and unnecessary helpful and hurtful.
I offer this only as a question in duality. Science? Fiction? Greed? Compassion?
I suppose this research is good however, what if we become immortal and get out of control. What if we go crazy and start rioting. We will need something very powerful to control people then.

The other parts can be watched if you click on the youtube logo (bottom right)

Duality of an expert

What is the duality of an expert? An idiot? I guess that’s a little harsh. How about uninformed,?

How do we classify a person as an expert? If an expert tells you something is it fact? Do you blindly follow the opinions of an expert as if they were facts?

If you have an expert that says it’s good and an expert that says its bad, who is right?

If you have a democrat for healthcare and a republican against it, who is the expert on the bill. Did they all read it or hire an expert to read it and give them the highlights before voting on it?

How many of the protesters hitting YouTube have read the bill is what I really want to know?

I have already written about my thoughts on the duality of healthcare but I see all this violence over it and wonder how much these people really know from first hand reading and not from experts.

Based on the election, the majority of people wanted change. Well drastic change takes revolutions. Revolutions are always planned. Have you been informed? I havent.

Duality of a Death Panel

What is the duality of a Death Panel? A panel that decides whether there will be any gain by giving a patient a 50,000 dollar sugar pill?

Ok so thats pretty extreme but the gray area on this topic starts so quickly. How you ask? Let’s play with a possible future scenario:

Let’s say your Mom has a 1% chance of benefitting from a surgery that costs 50,000. The surgery is very new and was not around just 3 months ago. She will be the 50th person ever to receive a cloned body part. The 33rd attempt was so far the only successful operation but the recipient has gained a significant quality of life due to full mobility from a wheel chair and has even taken up running.

It is to be decided by a government panel.

The Government Panel decides to allow the surgery since all life is precious and the person has provided much to society. Is this panel a Death Panel?

Same scenario but the chance of success is now .02% and the panel decides against the surgery advising that more testing with animal cloning needs to be done first. Is this panel a Death Panel?

So as you can see, it is almost by default that they are a death panel.

So the question I ask again and again is how many of you want to be immortal on earth? How many of you will fight for yourself, or someone else to get that extra day, that extra day of quality life?

How many of you want to be immortal in heaven without duality, but yet strive so hard for that extra day of life in duality? How many of you secretly strive for immortality on earth but claim you do not want it.

I think you can fill in all the other possible scenarios. Even the scenario that saves everyone 20% in taxes on our healthcare. Of course would the government actually reduce taxes? Should they reduce taxes? Or should the saved money from the death squads be used for providing and enhancing the centenarian or the supercentenarian who can no longer work due to job displacement by the robots?

Duality of Responsibilities III

What is the duality of a Yellow Traffic light? You could suggest a green light or a red light to be its duality.

This seems to be the same but different then the post I made about the duality of "Now" (Past or Future?).

You ask how a yellow traffic light should be classified with a title of
"Duality of Responsibilities III” Well because if fits into the first two posts.

My original post (March Post) goes into a greater depth to the question of duality in responsibility.

In the second post
(April 4 post) I posted an article on how the recession is affecting the police responsibilities.

So now back to the duality of Yellow light.

A red light stops you a green light lets you go, a yellow light puts you in the now to make that "Now" decision.

So maybe the only duality of the yellow light is the fact that due to its length in time its duality is the start of the yellow light and opposite is the end of the yellow light?? Or is it the short existence to the non existence of the yellow light?

You ask how relevant could a yellow light be? Oh that the beauty of duality.

Duality of Public School

Duality of Public School? Nature as the classroom?

Do geniuses come from school? I don’t really know how much Edison, Einstein, Tesla learned from School, but somehow I don’t think school really teaches people to be geniuses. People believe these people were born gifted. I tend to believe that these people just enjoyed thinking. How many educated children or adults do you think likes to think? I mean genius type thinking and truly loving to think and solve problems? From my post a few days ago couldn’t a passion to solve the video game be similar to the passion to solve a problem through thinking?

So how do we teach people to think?

So we tell the youth they were good but not great? Did they get a 99% on their test and told it was okay? Or that it wasn’t good enough? Did we even ask them how it was that they missed that question? Was the question clear, did you misunderstand? Did you get distracted? Could I have done something to make that question clearer easier to understand? Was my design of the test only 99% perfect?

Why isn’t this genius as common a name as Einstein and Edison? I have my dualistic thoughts but I leave them up to you. This is a long video but very good.

Duality of Responsibilities II

I posted in early March about the responsibilities the police have. I suggested a possibility that speed traps were on the rise and wondered what the police used to do with all this time spent on speed traps?

I did not praise or condemn this. I merely asked what responsibilities might have been lost, I offered thoughts and ideas.

previous post

Based on this new article my idea of the recession seems to be fact. Now I never believe anything is fact, but if money is needed during tough times, which it is, then what better way to keep your job as a policeman?

end

Speeding 'cushion' may dwindle due to recession
